Bank Fees Plaguing Some Nations

Despite many efforts through trade and banking, countries are still finding their CWI dropping due to nagging bank fees. 10% MAR fees are assessed from a country's highest MAR holding if any holding is below minimum balance. Thankfully a weekend is here giving countries a couple of fee free days to develop a plan to pull balances up. Here are the latest fees reported from the WWB for insufficient funds at the close of business on 10/2/2008:

NDL Press Release - October 1, 2008

In an effort to increase the efficiency and ease of transactions at the Widmar World Bank, the WWB managerial staff would like to announce the following change to the fee processing method, effective immediately:

A one time fee of 20% of the WID value of the transaction will be assessed in lieu of the previous fee schedule (10% of the WID value of MARs sold added to 10% of the WID value of MARs purchased).

This change preserves the original transaction fee amounts outlined in the NDL Charter, changing only the point in the transaction at which fees are deducted. It is the hope of the WWB staff that a streamlined fee assessment will aid in the ease and accuracy of calculations performed by NDL Citizens wishing to conduct business with the WWB.

The WWB Transaction Form (available on the NDL website) has been revised to reflect these changes. If you have any questions, please contact the Customer Service Department of the WWB for further information.
